Verify Exact Identity — Verify Exact Identity

Verifying the exact identity of any individual in an image is a critical first step before publication. Misidentifying a bystander or relative as a spouse can create highly misleading content for audiences.

Under federal consumer protection principles, avoiding deceptive representations is a key standard for fair information sharing. Editorial teams should establish clear verification protocols to confirm names and relationships before releasing visual claims.
