Examining Content Credentials — Examining Content Credentials

To establish an official record, copyright registration of photographs requires submitting specific digital files and detailed metadata. Applicants must provide a digital copy of each photograph in JPEG, GIF, or TIFF format along with a title list.

This list matches each photograph's file name to its title, creating a clear and verifiable administrative record. Editors can use these official registration details to confirm the origin and titles of historical images.
