Demanding Independent Corroboration — Demanding Independent Corroboration

When auditing claims about a public figure, editors should seek independent corroboration from multiple reliable sources. A single unverified online post or social media rumor is generally insufficient to establish factual accuracy.

If a major milestone or event cannot be confirmed through reputable, independent reporting, the claim should be treated as unverified. Cross-checking information across independent platforms helps ensure editorial integrity.
