Syndicated Headline Drift — Syndicated Headline Drift

When an image or story is syndicated across different blogs, its presentation often drifts from the original. S. copyright law, a photographer's creative expression is protected, but the Copyright Office will not register works that lack sufficient creativity.

Furthermore, photographers can register multiple photos as a group of up to 750 photographs to protect their portfolio from unauthorized syndication. Tracking the original copyrighted image and its registration can help researchers identify where headline drift and unauthorized image use began.
