Paul Schneider — Mark Brendanawicz — Paul Schneider — Mark Brendanawicz

Schneider played city planner Mark in seasons 1 and 2, departing before the show's best-known ensemble settled into place. His later work includes The Newsroom, Channel Zero, Tales from the Loop, and independent films.

The short tenure remains important because Mark originally served as a pragmatic counterweight to Leslie's ambition and the department's eccentricities.
