Phyllis Smith — Phyllis Vance — Phyllis Smith — Phyllis Vance

Smith appeared across all nine seasons as sales representative Phyllis, bringing a calm delivery to increasingly pointed office politics.

Her major post-series role was the voice of Sadness in Pixar's Inside Out and Inside Out 2. The casting used the same tonal gift in a new form: quiet phrasing that can make a simple observation unexpectedly funny or moving.
